Gogoro's EV Battery Exchange Leading Company Has Surpassed Half A Million Subscribers

JAKARTA - Gogoro, a global technology leader in the electric vehicle battery swap ecosystem, announced on Tuesday, August 23 that it has surpassed 500,000 customers in Taiwan.

Since its first launch in 2015, Gogoro has become a refueling leader for electric two-wheelers with more than 92 percent of its market share in Taiwan in the first half of 2022.

Gogoro's open battery swap ecosystem currently supports up to ten different vehicle brands. There are more than 25 percent of all two-wheelers sold in Taipei in the first half of 2022.

"The half million Gogoro battery exchange customers are a tremendous testament to our growth and momentum as a company, but more importantly it represents the 500,000 individual stories and 500,000 people who have chosen to embrace sustainable transportation to lead Taiwan towards a sustainable future," said Horace. Luke added that Taiwan is an excellent example of how an open battery exchange ecosystem can enable governments, businesses, vehicle makers and motorists to embrace sustainable electric transportation.

According to the company, the core of the Gogoro ecosystem is the Gogoro Network, an open and interoperable battery exchange platform recognized in 2021 by Guidehouse Insights as the world's leading battery exchange company for light urban vehicles.

To date, Gogoro has more than 500,000 riders and nearly 11,000 GoStation cabinet battery replacements in more than 2,240 locations, the Gogoro Network provides 340,000 daily battery replacements with more than 325 million total battery replacements.
