Brigadier MAR Police Suspect In Drug Trafficking Cases Examined NTB Regional Police Paminal
MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police Internal Security Team questioned Police Brigadier One (Briptu) MAR (27), a member of the Dompu Police who became a suspect in the alleged drug trafficking case in Bima Regency.
The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Artanto, said that Brigadier MAR's examination was to complete the need for case files for violations of the Police's professional code of ethics and discipline.
"The investigation into the person concerned was immediately carried out at the Bima Police. The team that came down from the Propam Division of the NTB Police," said Artanto as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 24.
Meanwhile, the Dompu Police Chief, AKBP Iwan Hidayat, admitted that he knew about the unscrupulous members involved in the alleged drug trafficking case in Bima Regency.
"Yes, handling (cases) at the Bima Police," said Iwan.
Likewise, the news about the investigators of the Drug Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Bima Police who have named Brigadier MAR as a suspect. As a superior who has the right to punish, Iwan emphasized that he had taken firm action.
"We have deactivated the person concerned from his position. Kan (Briptu MAR) has also been detained there (Bima Police)," he said.
Regarding the issue of violating the Police's professional code of ethics and discipline, Iwan Hidayat said that his party had not been able to process the matter.
"It can't be handled yet because we have to commit (the court's decision) first, then we can see whether the violation is discipline or the police's professional code of ethics," he said.
As a suspect, Brigadier MAR is suspected of Article 112 paragraph 2 and/or Article 114 paragraph 2 and/or Article 127 paragraph 1 letter a of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
The determination of Brigadier MAR as a suspect in a drug crime case after it was revealed that he was involved in a case of alleged trafficking of shabu-shabu with 91 grams of evidence.
The disclosure of the case that identified Brigadier MAR as a suspect began with the arrest of a suspected shabu-shabu dealer in the Kilo area, Dompu Regency.
The development continued with the arrest of a man with the initials CA in Bima district, and the seizure of dozens of plastic clips containing methamphetamine.
The suspect CA admitted to getting crystal methamphetamine from Brigadier MAR. The police also devised a strategy so that there would be transactions between CA and Brigadier MAR.
The police strategy paid off by arresting Brigadier MAR when he was about to trade drugs with CA. The member of the Security Intelligence Unit (Satintelkam) of the Dompu Police was arrested with 91 grams of crystal methamphetamine as evidence.
