JAKARTA - The Korean drama Big Mouth has become one of the dramas that fans have been discussing since its release on July 29. This drama even occupies the position as the most popular Korean drama on Disney+ Hotstar this month.

This drama presents a suspenseful story about a lawyer who suddenly becomes one of the most wanted criminals, after being accused of something he didn't even do. Here are interesting facts behind the making of Big Mouth.

The reunion of director Oh Choong Hwan and Lee Jongsuk Previously, Oh Choong Hwan had worked with Lee Jongsuk for a series. Amazed by Jongsuk's ability and performance, Oh Choong Hwan had the desire to work with him again which was realized in "Big Mouth".

"It seems that at that time Lee (Jongsuk) was looking for a straightforward, strong character, and this character (Park Chang-ho) would be a suitable character for him," said Oh Choong Hwan.​ According to the director, Jongsuk's acting skills are getting more impressive. Jongsuk can carry likable characters really well, but the actor looks even more amazing when it comes to portraying a serious and depressed character.

"I think the detail and level of depth of character that Lee Jongsuk brings is very unique," he said.

The most challenging scene that made Lee Jongsuk take on the role of Oh Choong Hwan. One of the most unforgettable scenes in the series is when Changho decides to become Big Mouse to protect his family and yells at the prison guards.

The director said he had spoken to Jongsuk and explained that the scene would be a very emotionally iconic scene for Changho throughout the series. That scene, he said, also made him think even more about choosing Lee Jongsuk.

"And then I heard from Lee Jongsuk, that this scene was also what made him finally decide to take on a role in this drama, and I think he did a very good job of portraying the character," he was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 24.

Lee Jongsuk recommended Lim Yoona for the character of Ko Miho. While reading the script for "Big Mouth", Oh Choong Hwan felt that Lim Yoona would be the right person to play the character of Ko Miho. Not even just the director, Jongsuk also highly recommends Yoona for the character.

“Ko Miho is a complicated character who has to balance herself while speaking straightforwardly, but not distracting others. Because I felt he would be perfect for this character, I offered him the role of Ko Miho, and he did a great job portraying the character,” explained Oh Choong Hwan.
