2022 BWF World Championship: Win Over Taiwanese Representative, Rinov/Pitha To Round Of 16

JAKARTA - Indonesia's mixed doubles, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari managed to get a ticket to the round of 16 of the 2022 BWF World Championship. The result was achieved after defeating Taiwanese representatives, Lee Yang/Yang Ching Tun.

In the match which took place at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Japan, Tuesday afternoon WIB, Rinov/Pitha won the rubber game in 44 minutes with the final scores 21-15, 19-21, and 21-8.

Rinov/Pitha appeared dominant since the first game started. Direct pressure was shown on the Taiwan representative through a 2-1 point advantage. After that, the mixed doubles continued to collect points to lead 11-6 in the first game interval.

After the break, Rinov/Pitha maintained the tempo by taking advantage of the advantageous points. Had a 19-4 lead, their second effort then bore fruit with a 21-15 victory in the first game.

Continuing in the second game, it was Taiwan's representatives who tried to catch up. There was a scramble for points until the score showed 8-8, but luck was again in favor of Rinov/Pitha by winning 11-9.

Unfortunately, after the second half, the advantage of Rinov/Pitha was able to be chased by Lee/Yang which made things turn around. In the second game Rinov/Pitha had to give up on the Taiwan representative with a score of 19-21.

The results were equally strong in the first two games, so the match had to continue to the deciding round through the rubber game. In this round, Rinov/Pitha were able to rise to win.

In the third game interval Rinov/Pitha won 11-4. This long distance is well utilized by both of them to collect additional points. Rinov/Pitha's struggle was not in vain because the opponent could only add four points at the end which automatically made the Indonesian representatives win in the third game with a score of 21-8.
