Your Mouth, Your Tiger! Chelsea Manager Thomas Tuchel's Scathing Comments Lead To Fines
JAKARTA - The English Football Federation (FA) has fined Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel. This sanction was imposed on Tuchel's comments regarding the referee's performance when Chelsea drew with Tottenham Hotspur, some time ago.
Tuchel accused referee Anthony Taylor of not doing his job properly. In fact, he said "it would probably be better" if Taylor didn't referee Chelsea games again.
As a result of his comments, Tuchel was fined 35 thousand pounds, equivalent to Rp. 614 million (equivalent to Rp. 263 million).
Not only that, the German manager was also given a one-match ban. However, for a different case.
The ban was given due to a dispute with Antonio Conte, the Tottenham manager, after the match. For this case, Conte received a sanction of 15 thousand pounds.
In addition, the FA also added its accusations to Tuchel. The former Paris Saint-Germain boss was accused of inappropriate behavior in his post-match press conference.
At the time, Tuchel made comments that "imply biased and/or challenged the integrity of match referees", the FA said in a statement.
"Thomas Tuchel has until Thursday, August 25, 2022, to respond," the FA added.
