COVID-19 Update As Of 22 August: 3,300 New Cases Appeared, 6,318,857 Cases Accumulated

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today, August 22. There were 91,535 specimens examined with the results of 3,300 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,318,857 and active cases have fallen by 1,697 to 48,803 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Monday, August 22.

Today's recovered cases increased by 4,978 cases, bringing the total to 6,112,658 people recovered. Then, positive confirmation that 19 died and a total of 157,396 people.

The province with the highest new cases was DKI Jakarta with 1,546 cases and a total of 1,379,521 cases. Followed by West Java with 639 new cases with a total of 1,157,533 cases. Banten has 409 new cases and a total of 325,171 cases. Then, East Java with 232 new cases and a total of 594,258 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,720 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 664 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 325 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 289 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 105,920,916.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 11.87 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 3,618 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 203,128,728 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,621,813. people underwent a second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 59,191,011 and the fourth dose was 276,933. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
