Ismail Sabri Yaakob Insists That The First Target Of One Year Leadership Is Political Stability Of Malaysia

JAKARTA - Political stability is the main challenge that is the most bitter to be faced in a year of leadership, said Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

"Never in the history of Malaysia, the Government and the opposition have signed an MoU to cool the country's political temperature," said Ismail Sabri through his social media account which was monitored in Kuala Lumpur, Sunday.

"Political stability is the first challenge that must be resolved, because when politics is stable, the economy also becomes stable," he said as quoted by Antara.

Next up is the economic recovery. By opening all economic sectors that have been closed for two years and providing incentives for small merchants and micro, small and simple companies (PMKS) to return to business, he said.

But he said the sudden conflict between Russia and Ukraine had an effect on the country's economic recovery agenda.

"Alhamdulillah, thanks to the results of the government's efforts, Bank Negara has announced that our second quarter 2022 GDP (Gross Domestic Product) is the highest in Southeast Asia," said Ismail Sabri.

In fact, he said Malaysia's GDP surpassed the achievements of other economic powers such as China, Japan, the United States, the European Union, and other countries.

Ismail Sabri Yaakob is the 9th Prime Minister of Malaysia. He took office on August 21, 2021, replacing Muhyiddin Yassin who resigned.
