Calls Russia Using Sukhoi Su-57 Fighter Jets In Ukraine, Defense Minister Shoigu: Very Strong Weapon

JAKARTA - The latest Sukhoi Su-57 fighter jet has shown brilliant performance in weaponry, during special military operations in Ukraine, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Sunday.

"We can (say), we have used the Su-57 fighter jet. This aircraft has shown itself brilliantly. It has a very high level of protection against various air defense systems, it has protection against missiles," he said in an interview with the TV channel. Rossiya-1, as launched on TASS on August 21.

"There's a lot of stuff in there. Most importantly, the weapons are very strong. We also tried and tested these guns, they work really well, I can't find another word for it."

In May, a source reported to TASS about the use of Su-57 fighter jets by the Russian Air Force during special military operations in Ukraine.

The Sukhoi Su-57 fighter jet was tested for the first time in actual combat operations in Syria in 2018.

The Su-57 is designed to destroy all types of air, ground, and surface targets. It has supersonic cruising speed, in-flight armament, radio absorption coating (stealth technology), as well as the latest complex onboard equipment.
