Official! Persib Bandung Appoints Ex-Barcelona And Real Madrid Player Luis Milla As New Coach
JAKARTA - Persib Bandung has officially appointed former coach of the Indonesian national team Luis Milla as their new coach.
The club nicknamed Maung Bandung confirmed the signing of the Spanish coach on Friday, August 19, 2022.
"Persib officially announces the appointment of Luis Milla as coach," Persib wrote on their official website.
The former Barcelona and Real Madrid player will later directly handle the Persib first team, which had previously been handled by interim coach Budiman after the departure of the previous coach Robert Alberts.
Persib hopes that Luis Milla's experience can help them rise after a bad week in the Indonesian League 1.
"Hopefully, with the many achievements and experience he has, both as a player and a coach, Luis Milla can have a positive impact on the team and bring Persib back to winning ways," Persib continued.
Previously, Luis Milla had handled the Indonesian national team from 2017 to 2018, both seniors and U-23.
During his training for the Indonesian national team, he successfully presented a silver medal at the 2017 SEA Games and brought the team to the round of 16 of the 2018 Asian Games.
