Former Cimahi Walkot Returns To Be A KPK Detainee After Being Released From Sukamiskin Prison
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again detained the former Mayor of Cimahi Ajay M. Priatna. He is suspected of accepting gratification and giving bribes to former KPK investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju.
According to VOI monitoring, Ajay came down from the second floor of the investigation room at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, Jakarta at around 14.30 WIB. He was seen wearing an orange vest for a KPK prisoner and his hands were handcuffed.
When he got off, Ajay was seen carrying a white bag. However, he gave the bag to two of his relatives who were already waiting in the lobby of the KPK building.
Not only that, Ajay was seen being embraced by two of his relatives in turn. It was not clear what they were talking about, but one of them tapped Ajay's shoulder.
After that moment, Ajay is then taken to the press conference room by the prison guards.
Previously, Ajay arrived at the KPK on Wednesday, August 17 at 11.15 WIB. There was no information whatsoever from him when he was taken into the KPK's Red and White building.
Meanwhile, Head of Class I Sukamiskin Bandung Prison Elly Yuzar said Ajay had been released from his sentence. Therefore, he did not want to talk more because the inmates outside the prison are no longer his responsibility.
"We don't know what happened outside the prison, right. This means that he was released this morning at 10 o'clock.
For information, the Mayor of Cimahi Ajay M Priyatna was sentenced to two years in prison for a corruption case of bribery to smooth the licensing of a hospital project.
The verdict was lighter than the demands made by the KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU), namely a 7-year prison sentence. He was then detained at the Sukamiskin Class I Prison, Bandung.
