West Java Regional Police Checks Bahar Smith As A Suspect Next Week
JAKARTA - The case of alleged abuse of an online taxi driver by Bahar Smith is still being continued by the West Java Regional Police. Even next week, investigators will examine Bahar Smith.
Originally the figure of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) would be questioned on Monday, 23 November. He will be questioned as a suspect in this case.
"His capacity as a suspect, an examination in a case of persecution at his house some time ago, whose victim was an online driver," said Head of West Java Regional Police, Kombes Erdi A. Chaniagodi, reported by Antara, Wednesday, November 18.
He said the investigators had been invited by the prison to carry out an examination of Bahar. However, he has not confirmed where the location of Bahar's examination will be carried out.
"We do not yet know whether the examination is at the West Java Regional Police, or the investigator who will go to the Gunung Sindur prison in Bogor," he said.
So far, he confirmed that investigators had not received a letter or statement regarding the peace between the victim and Bahar. So, he said, the legal process of the case was continued by Ditreskrimum investigators.
"Investigators have not received the letter, huh. Until now investigators have never received anything called revocation, peace," said Erdi.
Previously, the West Java Regional Police's General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) again named Bahar Smith a suspect in a case of persecution.
"The result of the title of the case (Bahar) has been named a suspect," said West Java Regional Police Director General Criminal Investigation, Kombes Pol CH Patoppoi when contacted in Bandung, Tuesday, October 27.
The determination of the suspect is in accordance with the letter issued by Ditreskrimum number: B / 4094 / X / 2020 / Ditreskrimum which is signed by Patoppoi himself.
