Allegations Of Ferdy Sambo Giving Money To LPSK Officers Reported To KPK
JAKARTA - The Law Enforcement and Justice Advocates Team (TAMPAK) reported the alleged giving of money by former Head of the National Police Propam Division Inspector General Ferdy Sambo to officers from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) today, Monday, August 15.
TAMPAK Coordinator, Roberth Keytimu, said that this report was carried out so that the investigation into the shooting of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J proceeded professionally and transparently. They urged the KPK to investigate the alleged money giving.
"We expect the KPK to take steps based on Law Number 19 of 2019," said Roberth at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, August 15.
This investigation, continued Roberth, must also be carried out on allegations of giving money to a number of parties involved in this shooting case, such as Bharada Richard Eliezer, also known as Bharada E, Kuwat, and Bripka Ricky Rizal.
"(Hopefully the KPK, ed) will investigate the alleged bribery of LPSK staff, Bharada Richard Elizier Pudihang Lumiu alias Bharada E, Bripka Ricky Rizal, and Kuwat Ma'ruf," he said.
The evidence brought by TAMPAK is news clippings from online media. From there, the union of advocates believes that there have been attempts to bribe a number of parties.
"The bribery effort is included in the category of corruption as referred to in Article 13 in conjunction with Article 14 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes," said Roberth.
As previously reported, Deputy Chairperson of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Edwin Partogi said that one member of the group was given two brown envelopes after meeting the former Head of the Propam Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, on Wednesday, July 13.
At that time, two LPSK officers met with Sambo at the Propam Kadiv Office. According to him, the meeting was related to a request for protection for Ferdy Sambo's wife.
However, this allegation has been denied by Inspector General Pol Ferdy Sambo's lawyer, Irwan Irawan. According to him, there was no attempt to give anything to certain parties, including LPSK.
Irwan asked the party who accused him to prove that the brown envelope was given. In addition, they must also disclose the contents of the envelope to the public.
