KPK Summons 2 Witnesses To Examine Allegations Of Bribery And Gratification Mardani Maming
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate allegations of bribery and gratification related to the mining business permit that ensnared the former regent of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, Mardani H. Maming. Two witnesses were called today.
"The investigative team has scheduled the summons of witnesses for suspect MM," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Tuesday, August 9.
The two witnesses who were called were an entrepreneur named Ilmi Umar and a housewife, Eka Risnawati. They will be questioned by investigators to investigate the alleged acceptance by Mardani.
It did not say what investigators would investigate. However, each of the witnesses summoned are those who are suspected of knowing the corruption that is being investigated by the KPK.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Mardani a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification of a mining business permit in Tanah Bumbu Regency. He was named the suspect as the recipient, while the giver, Hendry Soetio, who was the controller of PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN) had died.
Even though he died, the KPK confirmed that investigators had received evidence related to Mardani's acceptance. He is believed to have earned money from Hendry from 2014 to 2020.
Meanwhile, the amount of money that Mardani received through his trusted people and his company reached Rp104.3 billion.
As a result of his actions, Mardani was suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
