Supporting National Strategic Project Development, PTPP Performs First Welding Integrated Construction Work Design And Build Cisem Pipes
JAKARTA - The state-owned construction company, PT PP (Persero) Tbk, has started the construction of the Cirebon-Semarang (Cisem) Phase I Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline project for the Semarang-Batang section.
PTPP conducted the first welding for the integrated construction work on the design and construction of the Cisem pipe on Saturday, August 6, at Jalan Yos Sudarso, Semarang City, Central Java Province. The first welding event was led by the Director of Oil and Gas Infrastructure Planning and Development of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Noor Arifin Muhammad. The inauguration ceremony was also attended directly by ESDM Expert Staff for Oil and Gas Integration, Coordination & Interface Nanang Untung, Pertamina Gas Director Gamal Imam Santoso, PTPP EPC Division SVP Didik Mardianto, and others.
The Cirebon-Semarang Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline Project Phase I for the Semarang-Batang section is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) and is part of the transmission pipeline interconnection plan between the transmission pipelines of Sumatra, West Java and the transmission pipelines of East Java.
This pipeline interconnection strengthens the natural gas supply chain and is accessible to the public at affordable prices in a sustainable manner, especially for the needs of the existing industrial sector along the pipeline and industrial areas that will soon operate in several areas, such as: Batang Terpadu Industrial Estate (KIT). Batang), Kendal Special Economic Zone and Wijayakusuma Industrial Estate Semarang in Central Java, as well as other industrial areas that are in the planning process by the Government.
The project, which is owned by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, has a contract value of Rp1.17 trillion with an implementation period of 15 months. The scope of work carried out by KSO PTPP - Elnusa as the implementing contractor, is the construction of a 20” gas pipeline for approximately 60 kilometers from Semarang station to Batang station.
"The availability of the Cirebon-Semarang transmission pipeline is also expected to be able to grow the economy of other sectors, namely the household, commercial and transportation sectors through the natural gas distribution network. PTPP President Director Novel Arsyad said PTPP as a construction company that has been trusted to work on the construction of the Cirebon-Semarang (Cisem) Phase I Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline project for the Semarang-Batang segment will complete the work on time and with the best quality.
