Two Teenage Boys Who Disappeared Drowning In Bekasi River Still In Search Of The Joint SAR Team

JAKARTA - The joint SAR team is still searching for the whereabouts of the two missing children who drowned in Bekasi River, Bojong Menteng Village, Rawa Lumbu District, Bekasi City, West Java, Sunday, August 7.

"We have deployed rescue personnel with complete water SAR equipment to the scene to carry out SAR operations in the hope that the victims will be found soon," said the Head of the Jakarta SAR Office as SAR Mission Coordinator, Fazzli to VOI, Sunday, August 7, evening.

As is known, two children with the initials Y (12) and S (12) were declared missing from drowning, presumably due to exhaustion from swimming in the Bekasi River, at around 14.20 WIB.

The incident began when Y and S along with 4 other children were playing on the banks of the river. Then Y was suspected of being tired while swimming and asked his friends for help.

Then victim S tried to help Y, but S's rescue efforts by swimming to Y did not go smoothly. Y and S were actually swept away by the current and drowned.

Currently, the joint SAR Team is conducting a search by dividing the area into 3 teams. The first team searched using a rubber boat with a distance of 2 km from the scene.

The second team looked for a visual land route with a distance of 1 Km from the scene and the third team did a search with Aqua Eye and USD and conducted a dive around the location with a radius of 10 meters.

"The elements who are members of the Joint SAR Team are the Jakarta SAR Office, East Bekasi Police, Teluk Pucung Koramil, Bekasi City BPBD and others," he said.
