Elon Musk Challenges Twitter CEO To Open Debate About The Percentage Of Fake Accounts On Social Media
JAKARTA - Elon Musk on Saturday, August 6 challenged Twitter's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Parag Agrawal for an open debate about the percentage of fake accounts or bots on the social media platform.
"I hereby challenge @paraga to an open debate about the percentage of Twitter bots. Let him prove to the public that Twitter has less than 5 percent of fake or spam daily users!", Musk said in his Twitter post.
He also conducted a poll asking whether Twitter really has less than 5 percent of fake daily users.
Earlier, quoted by Reuters on Sunday, Elon Musk said that if Twitter can provide a method of sampling as many as 100 accounts and confirming that the accounts are real, its deal to buy the company must proceed according to the original terms,
"However, if it turns out that their SEC filing is materially wrong, then it shouldn't be", he said.
On Thursday, Twitter rejected Elon Musk's claim that he was tricked into signing a $44 billion deal to buy the company.
"According to Musk, he was tricked by Twitter into signing a $44 billion merger agreement. The story is absurd and contradicts the facts", Twitter said.
