BMKG Early Warning: A Number Of Regions In Indonesia Will Be Affected By Bad Weather

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning forecast for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds that could potentially occur in several parts of Indonesia, on Sunday (7/8).

Information quoted from the BMKG website on Sunday stated that the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds was warned for the provinces of Aceh, West Java, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Maluku, North Maluku, Papua. , and West Papua.

The BMKG stated that the cyclonic circulation was monitored in Papua and in the waters north of West Papua which forms a confluence/convergence area that extends from West Papua to Papua.

Other convergence areas extend in the waters north and west of Sumatra, from the west coast of northern Sumatra to the Malacca Strait, in the Natuna Islands, Bengkulu, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, from Bone Bay to Tomini Bay, in the Sulawesi Sea, eastern NTT, and in Maluku. .

According to BMKG, this condition is able to increase the potential for rain cloud growth around the cyclonic circulation and along the convergence area.

Specifically for the DKI Jakarta area, BMKG predicts light rain in East Jakarta and South Jakarta on Sunday afternoon.

While other areas, namely Central Jakarta and North Jakarta, are cloudy, West Jakarta is cloudy and the Thousand Islands are sunny. Meanwhile, at night, only West Jakarta is forecasted for light rain, while other areas are cloudy.
