Zurich With Danamon Launches MSME Protection Insurance
JAKARTA - PT Zurich Asuransi Indonesia Tbk (Zurich) in collaboration with PT Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon) recently launched the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Protection Package Insurance to support growth and provide protection in managing its business risks.
"Based on in-depth research, we found that MSMEs need protection, but have not found a product that suits their business needs, and they need reliable insurance recommendations," said Zurich Insurance Indonesia President Director Edhi Tjahja Negara in a statement, quoted by Antara, Friday. August 5th.
The MSME Protection Package Insurance is intended for MSME actors for nine types of occupancy, namely shop houses, services, workshops/workshops, showrooms, restaurants/bars/hotels, private warehouses, low, medium and high risk manufacturing businesses. The insurance covers the protection of business assets to health insurance for owners and employees with a total dependent of up to Rp10 billion.
"Together with Danamon we have developed a package that meets this need in various ways, bringing a more optimistic outlook for customers," said Edhi.
President Director of PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk, Yasushi Itagaki, said that the product was born from the synergy of Danamon's experience in helping thousands of MSMEs in Indonesia and Zurich's expertise in providing protection for the people of Indonesia.
This collaboration is said to provide added value for Danamon customers, especially those who are MSME players, so that they can protect their business as well as the welfare of their workers.
"Through Danamon's network throughout Indonesia, we hope this product can touch the MSME sector which was previously unreachable by financial services," he said.
He further said that Danamon understands that MSMEs have a vital role in the Indonesian economy. Data from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs in 2021 shows that the number of MSMEs reaches 64.2 million and contributes to Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 61.07 percent. However, business actors still face some classic challenges related to business risk and the lack of insurance products that meet their needs.
"We believe that this product will help bring customers a more optimistic outlook," he said.
MSME players can enjoy special offers (early bird) until September 2022 for MSME Package Insurance. Then, through Danamon branches, MSMEs can save up to 10 percent and an additional 6.6 percent discount from the initial premium in the context of Danamon's 66th Anniversary.
