South Sulawesi Mamminasata Toll Project Excluded From PSN List
MAKASSAR - The Mamminasata (Makassar, Maros, Sugguminasa-Gowa, Takalar) toll road project in South Sulawesi has been removed from the list of National Strategic Projects (PSN).
This is based on Regulation of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs No. 9 of 2022 concerning Amendments to Regulation of the Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs No. 7 of 2021 concerning Amendments to the List of National Strategic Projects.
The head of the South Sulawesi Bappelitbangda Andi Darmawan Bintang said that the Mamminasata Toll Road was removed from the PSN list because the central government was considering the timing of the project's completion.
The central government hopes that all PSNs can be completed by 2024, before President Jokowi's term ends.
"Of course we understand. Because the Mamminasata Toll Road, if I'm not mistaken, is still in the planning stage and cannot be completed in two years," said Darmawan Bintang as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 4.
Previously, the Mamminasata ring road construction project was included in 16 lists of 2022 toll road development plans compiled by the central government. The investment budget is IDR 7.4 trillion and will involve the private sector.
However, Darmawan hopes that the Mamminasata Toll Road can continue to be a concern for the Central Government. Considering, this road is very much needed as a connecting road in the Mamminasata Area.
"This road is considered as one of the infrastructures that can boost the national economy," he said.
In order for this project to continue, Darmawan Bintang said there are several scenarios that can be taken. One of them is the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (PPP) scheme.
"We hope that the central government can assist us in cooperating with investors in financing this project," he hoped.
