JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) inaugurated 346 Intellectual Property Teachers (RuKI) to be deployed to 170 schools in the country.

These teachers will provide a basic understanding of the importance of protecting intellectual property (IP).

"I support the strengthening of IP dissemination agents which is realized through the efforts of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) to actively recruit IP teachers in 33 provinces," said Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights Eddy OS Hiariej in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday. , August 2nd.

The inauguration of the RuKI is inseparable from the DJKI Teaching 2022 activities with the aim of realizing an increase and equal distribution of understanding and building public awareness of the urgency of IP protection.

Eddy said that DJKI Teaching activities will take place simultaneously in 33 provinces in the near future. Through RuKI, it is hoped that students will know KI from an early age, including at the elementary school level.

Meanwhile, the Acting Director General of Intellectual Property Razilu said the DJKI Teaching 2022 activity is a learning medium for IP to instill an understanding of the importance of protecting and respecting IP and fostering the spirit of work and innovation.

The spirit to organize DJKI Teaching 2022 departs from the understanding that schools are educational institutions that play an important role in nurturing students to develop their interests and talents.

This, he said, is of course closely related to the creation of an innovation. Thus, by introducing KI to elementary school students, it is hoped that they will have sufficient provisions in the future.

RuKI consists of employees of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in both the central unit, regional offices and technical implementation units throughout Indonesia. They will instill knowledge about IP in a simple way through the spirit of creating and innovating.
