Sleman Regent Visits PGN Surabaya, Study On Gas Utilization
JAKARTA - The Pertamina Gas Subholding Gas Network (Jargas) development program in Southern Central Java and Yogyakarta received a pretty good response from the local government, one of which was from Sleman Regency, DI Yogyakarta. Therefore, PGN Sales Operation Region III received a visit from the Regent of Sleman, Kustini Sri Purnomo accompanied by the Regional Secretary of Sleman Regency Hardi Kiswaya in Surabaya, Thursday, July 28 yesterday.
In 2022, the potential for gas grid development in Sleman Regency is approximately 5,300 house connections (SR).
During this visit, the Sleman Regent wanted to ensure the benefits of using natural gas for commercial consumers, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and households. Furthermore, visits were also made to a number of PGN SOR III gas facilities in East Java - Bali Nusa Tenggara (Jatim Nusra).
Together with the General Manager of PGN SOR III Edi Armawiria, Kustini and his entourage inspected the Ngagel MCS Control Room facilities, followed by the gas facilities for transportation at the Ngagel SPBG Station. After that, the group shifted to Penjaringan Flats and Kue Rungkut Village to review the effectiveness of using Jargas for household consumers and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
"This visit to PGN in Surabaya is in order to orientate the development of state gas. After we visited the PGN SOR III office and gas facilities for the community, especially in Rusunawa and MSMEs. We consider that the use of PGN gas is more effective and efficient than subsidized gas cylinders or gas cylinders. non-subsidized gas cylinders in sizes of 5 kg and 12 kg, because the price of gas cylinders is higher," Kustini said after the visit, quoted from a written statement, Friday, July 29.
Besides being more effective and efficient, PGN's natural gas is also cleaner, safer and more comfortable. Moreover, natural gas is a domestic product, unlike canister gas which until now still has to be imported from other countries.
"We hope that the people of Sleman can take advantage of the Jargas program, especially for urban communities because it is more effective and efficient to spend funds for households. Let the people of Sleman let's use PGN gas because it is more effective and efficient," he urged.
On the same occasion, Edi Armawiria expressed his gratitude for the enthusiasm and positive response of the Sleman Regent for the Jargas program in Southern Central Java and Yogyakarta. He admitted that so far PGN has conducted outreach to the public so that the implementation of the Southern Central Java Gas Jargas program can be realized quickly.
"We have done some socialization, because at PGN there is not only a technical team, but also a working group that deals with customers and households," said Edi.
Regarding the potential gas customers in southern Central Java and Jogja, he said there are more commercial, small and household customers. Meanwhile, the industry is on the outskirts of the city.
PGN SOR III currently manages 2,947 km natural gas pipelines to meet the natural gas needs of 150,067 customers in various sectors. In addition to pipelines, a number of customers have also been served with non-pipeline modes through Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), as is the case in Magelang, Central Java, which currently has 201 customers.
