Mardani Maming Finally Handcuffed And Officially Wears KPK Orange Vest
JAKARTA - The former regent of Tanah Bumbu, Mardani H. Maming, has been officially named as a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan. He appears to be wearing an orange vest that says prisoner.
From VOI's observation, Mardani came down from the second floor of the examination room at around 21.30 WIB. Apart from wearing an orange vest, his hands were also handcuffed.
When he came down from the second floor of the investigator's room, Mardani greeted his supporters who were standing in the lobby of the building. While his supporters shouted in support.
It is not known who was standing in the lobby of the building. But since the afternoon or during Mardani's examination, they have been waiting at the KPK's Red and White House.
Mardani surrendered today, Thursday, July 28. He arrived at the KPK's Red and White Building at around 14.00 WIB.
When he arrived, Mardani wore a blue jacket. Before entering the lobby of the building, the General Treasurer of the inactive Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) had protested against his determination as a fugitive.
This protest was conveyed because Mardani felt he had sent a letter to the KPK. He asked for a postponement of the examination as a suspect until the pretrial decision was made by the South Jakarta District Court (PN) on Wednesday, July 27.
"On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, I was declared to have been declared a DPO, even though I had sent a letter and confirmed to the investigators that I would be present on July 28, 2022," Mardani told reporters before entering the building.
Previously, Mardani was named a suspect after being prevented from going abroad by the Directorate General of Immigration at the request of the KPK. Before being named a suspect, he had also been questioned.
However, after being questioned, Mardani admitted that he was asked for information regarding his problem with the owner of PT Jhonlin Group Samsudin Andi Arsyad alias Haji Isam.
Even so, Maming's name was once said to have received Rp 89 billion in money in a trial for alleged bribery of a mining business license (IUP) in Tanah Bumbu Regency which was held at the Tipikor Court, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Kalsel).
This allegation was conveyed by the younger brother of former President Director of PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN) Henry Soetio, Christian Soetio. At that time, Christian claimed to know that there was a flow of funds to the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu Mardani H Maming through PT Permata Abadi Raya (PAR) and PT Trans Surya Perkasa (TSP).
The money transfer has been going on since 2014. The amount of tens of billions of rupiah is referred to as the amount quoted based on PT PCN's financial statements.
