Indonesia Sends 16 Representatives, Following Is The Drawing Schedule For The 2022 Badminton World Championship

JAKARTA - The 2022 Badminton World Championship will take place on August 21-28. However, before being held, first a drawing was held to determine the schedule and opponents of each participant.

Quoted from the official website of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), Thursday, the drawing schedule for the badminton world championship 2022 will take place on Tuesday, August 8, 2022. While the list of featured participants will be released on Friday, July 29.

After the announcement of the players who have qualified for the 2022 Badminton World Championships, BWF will give a deadline of 8 August 2022 for participants who intend to withdraw if they have problems or obstacles.

Indonesia fielded 16 representatives to the 2022 Badminton World Championships. There are four representatives in the men's singles, two women's singles, four men's doubles, three women's doubles and three mixed doubles.

This event is an interesting moment for Indonesian badminton players, because it is an opportunity to compete again after last appearing in 2019.

The 2019 edition was the last time Indonesian representatives appeared, because in 2021 Indonesia decided to withdraw and not send representatives due to the high number of COVID-19 cases.

In 2019 or the last year Indonesia participated, the red and white team successfully won one championship title through the appearance of Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan. In addition, two other representatives from the men's and women's doubles sector, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu successfully won bronze.
