BI: 2,000 Mosque Charity Boxes In South Sulawesi Have Implemented QRIS
JAKARTA - Head of Bank Indonesia (BI) South Sulawesi Province, Causa Iman Karana, said as many as 2,000 mosque charity boxes in the province have implemented a QRIS or non-cash payment channel.
Causa Iman said BI continues to encourage the digitization of charity/infaq boxes through the QRIS payment channel or standardization of payments using the QR Code method to improve people's financial literacy.
"Currently there are 2,000. In South Sulawesi, we will push it to 3,000 mosques (apply QRIS)," he said when he met the Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman at the Position House on Jalan Yusuf Daeng Ngawing Makassar, reported by Antara, Tuesday 26 July.
On that occasion, he also said that BI was collaborating with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and the Islamic Economic Community (MES) in the preparation of da'wah guidelines on Islamic economics and finance.
His party is also preparing to carry out the 2022 Sharia Economic Festival for Eastern Indonesia on 28-30 July 2022, as an effort to encourage the sharia economy, especially in South Sulawesi.
"We are again trusted as hosts. This activity is how to encourage the sharia economy in Indonesia. So that we can become the center of the world's sharia economy," said Causa Iman.
Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman admitted to supporting various breakthroughs and BI's agenda in encouraging the sharia economy in the area
"We support Bank Indonesia's activities to encourage sharia economic activities in South Sulawesi. The role of South Sulawesi is important, various activities are also placed here," he said.
