Thanks To Jokowi, Anies Baswedan: The President's Support Has Enabled The JIS Project To Run Completely
JAKARTA - Persija supporters or those who are usually at The Jakmania cheered when DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan thanked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). This moment occurred during the JIS Grand Launching.
Initially, Anies Baswedan said that the JIS, which has a capacity of 82 thousand people, was the result of the work of many people. Thousands of people, he said, had struggled to build the international standard stadium.
"This is a colossal work. This is not the work of one person, this is the work of thousands of people," Anies said in his remarks before The Jakmania at JIS, North Jakarta, Sunday, July 24.
Anies then thanked all parties, such as PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) who had completed the JIS construction to the central government, especially President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
"To the Jakpro staff who oversee it from the preparation of the plan to its completion, as well as allow me to express my gratitude to the entire ranks of the DKI Provincial Government, to all BUMDs," said Anies.
"And let us express our gratitude to the support from the central government, in particular the support from the President, who has made this project possible to completion," continued the former Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud).
When delivering this statement, The Jakmania who filled the stands then cheered, "Huuuu!" although some clapped.
"The Indonesian children who work in this process cannot be seen. But rest assured they have traces in this extraordinary building. And they will be able to tell their children and grandchildren that we are building a stadium that brings pride to Jakarta and Indonesia," he said.
Before closing his speech, Anies hoped that this stadium could be a pride for The Jakmania. Moreover, from the start JIS was the stadium he had promised.
"Take good care of this place. This is our home. This is a place that unites us and these are the last months of completing my five-year term in Jakarta. In three months I will finish my assignment in Jakarta after that I will come back to this place," he said.
"I do not sit as governor but will sit as The Jakmania with everyone in this place," Anies concluded.
