Prevent Congestion, Officers Apply One Way From The Peak

CIANJUR - Officers implemented a one-way system on the Puncak-Cianjur route, West Java, to prevent total congestion due to the density of vehicles on that route.

According to ANTARA's observations in Cianjur, Sunday, July 24, lines of vehicles could be seen starting from the Pacet-Cianjur Highway, to the Cipanas-Puncak area. The speed of vehicles stagnated for several minutes due to the sharp increase in the volume of vehicles heading towards Bogor in the evening.

Queues were also seen at the exit of tourist attractions such as the Cipanas Market T-junction, Cibodas Botanical Gardens and the Hanjawar T-junction, so that dozens of officers were alerted at a number of traffic-prone points to conduct flow engineering before the one-way system was implemented.

Head of Traffic Operations (KBO) for Cianjur Police, Iptu Yudistira in Cianjur on Sunday, said that until the evening the queue of vehicles to Bogor had increased quite a lot, as a result of the density of traffic flow on the Puncak-Bogor Highway.

"The queues in the Cianjur jurisdiction are due to the impact of traffic congestion on the Bogor route, so a number of flow engineering was carried out. In the evening we apply a one-way system until night, to prevent total traffic jams on the main Puncak route," he said.

Road users crossing the Puncak-Cianjur route said they had been stuck for two hours on the Puncak main route due to the heavy volume of vehicles from both directions to Bogor or vice versa to Cianjur. The number of vehicles in and out of tourist attractions is the main cause.

"I was from Bogor about to return to Cianjur, I was stuck for almost two hours on the Puncak-Cipanas main route. If you look at the volume of dense vehicles from both directions with tourist destinations," he said.
