COVID-19 Cases In Jakarta Increase, Deputy Governor Riza Worries "Citayan Fashion Week" Becomes A New Cluster: Some Are Not Wearing Masks
JAKARTA - The "Citayam Fashion Week" activity which is usually carried out by teenagers "Sudirman Citayam Bogor Depok" (SCBD) in the Dukuh Atas MRT Station area, Central Jakarta, has drawn a polemic.
In addition to disturbing public order, this activity is also feared to contribute a lot to the increase in COVID-19 cases. Moreover, currently the case of the corona virus in Jakarta is experiencing an increasing trend.
The Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, is worried that this activity will become a new COVID-19 cluster, especially since many SCBD teenagers do not wear masks.
"In fact, in the last two weeks there has been an increase. What if these teenagers are in crowds? Crowded, some are not wearing masks, it will cause an acceleration of COVID because of crowds like this," said Deputy Governor Riza as quoted by Antara, Sunday, July 24.
There was a suggestion for a mass swab test in the "Citayam Fashion Week" activity. This proposal is also being considered by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
"I think this is a good proposal, in the future we can do it," he said.
Regarding disturbing public order, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to find a new location to accommodate these activities.
"Later we will find a solution, such as Monas, Senayan, Sarinah, wherever friends suggest, we will find a place," said Riza.
