Please Pray For Bantul Residents, Regent Abdul Halim Exposed To COVID-19 Forced To Work From Home
BANTUL - The Regent of Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region, Abdul Halim Muslih has been confirmed positive for COVID-19. Government-related work in the district is carried out from the official residence.
"Starting today, I will be doing work at home or work from home, because yesterday I tested positive without any symptoms," said the Regent in a video recording statement uploaded on his social media, Antara, Friday, July 22.
After being tested positive for COVID-19, the Regent immediately asked for a PCR swab test to be carried out on the closest people in the district government and people who had close contact with him.
He said, there were a total of 14 people who carried out tests to confirm the diagnosis of COVID-19, including aides and staff who accompanied during the previous day's activities.
"Tracing and testing have also been carried out as many as 14 people, especially in the Regent's Secretariat Office and the Official House, including my wife, and Alhamdulillah 14 people have tested negative, except for my wife," he said.
The Bantul Regent himself does not know where and from whom he has contracted COVID-19, so his party continues to ask the public to always be aware of the transmission of COVID-19 that can still occur.
The Regent ensured that even though he was exposed to COVID-19 and had to work from the official residence, services within the district government would continue to run as usual.
"With results like this, services at the Bantul Regent's Secretariat Office will continue as usual, and both of us will do homework assignments for the next few days until they are declared negative," he said.
Based on data from the DIY COVID-19 Handling Task Force, the total number of positive cases in Bantul since the beginning of the pandemic until last Thursday was 68,736 people, with 67,124 people having recovered, 1,507 cases of death, and 105 people still being treated or isolated.
