Komnas HAM Checks The Condition Of Kariu Refugees On Haruku Island, Central Maluku
AMBON - The Indonesian National Human Rights Commission team led by Beka Ulung Hapsara visited Aboru Country, Haruku Island District, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku to see the condition of refugees in Kariu Country.
"The purpose and objective of the arrival of the Komnas HAM team in Aboru Country is to monitor and investigate the presence of the Kariu people in the Aboru refugee camp as well as to review the refugee camps," said Head of Public Relations of the Ambon Island Police and PP Lease, Ipda Moyo Utomo. in Ambon reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 20.
Komnas HAM also held meetings and shared with each other regarding the status and whereabouts of the people of Kariu Country, as well as the problems between the Aboru and Hulaliu countries.
"Furthermore, they continued their journey back to review the housing location for residents of Kariu Country after the social conflict," continued Moyo Utomo.
The six-member Komnas HAM team was accompanied by the Head of Propam for the Ambon Island Police, Ipda Herman Tuatubun and the Head of Binmas for the Ambon Island Police, Kompol Antula.
The meeting was led by the Deputy Chief of the Haruku Island Police, Ipda Boby Dethan, with the number of personnel carrying out security and escorting each of four members of the Haruku Island Police, four Brimob BKO personnel from Brimob BKO, and two members of the intelligence unit of Kodam XVI/Pattimura Ambon.
The arrival of the Komnas HAM team in Aboru Country was invited by the King of Aboru Country, Marthen Sinay, Aboru Country Priest, Kariu State Government officials and staff.
The Komnas HAM team also visited and saw the Haruku Island Police Station building.
