PB ESport Indonesia Holds Free Fire Tournament Between Students With Prizes Of IDR 500 Million

JAKARTA - PB eSport Indonesia (PB ESI) is looking for the best seeds from this electronic sport. Through the Free Fire competition between middle schools and equivalents in Jabodetabek.

According to the Chairperson of PB ESI, Bambang Sunarwibowo, this competition was held to recruit young professional eSports athletes who can appear in the international arena. With more than 6,000 teams from 500 schools spread across the Jabodetabek area.

"We hope to look for superior seeds who are ready to fight in the international arena in the future," Bambang said in a release received by VOI, Monday, November 9.

Bambang hopes that he can motivate students, especially middle schools, to choose activities that are positive and also achieving, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, the Free Fire competition game is quite popular among students.

This competition will be held for four days online and the grand final will be held semi online on November 13, 2020, at the PB Esports Indonesia office, by applying the applicable health protocol.

"With the hashtag #JadiJuaraDunia, KONI and PB Esports Indonesia provide a fair and equitable opportunity to compete in a healthy and fair play manner to gain real achievements, as well as the opportunity to become national champions and pave the way to world champions," he added.

Supported by Garena, this competition will carry out the qualification phase until the grand final (main event) throughout November 2020. With the western and eastern qualifying rounds taking place simultaneously from 17 to 22 November 2020, then followed by a grand final or main event on 28 to 29 November 2020.

PB ESI has prepared a total prize pool for the Jabodetabek Season 1 Student Cup of IDR 500 million. The prize consists of IDR 300 million which will be given to the winners of the 12 best teams and IDR 200 million will be given as eSports coaching money for the best 10 teams.
