PNBP Corruption Case, Blora Police Sued Couple 6.5 Years

SEMARANG - A married couple who are members of the Blora Police, Central Java, Bripka Etana Fani Jatnika and First Brigadier Eka Maryani are required to be sentenced to 6.5 years in prison in the case of alleged corruption in the non-tax state revenue (PNBP) amounting to IDR 3.049 billion at the Polres.

Public Prosecutor Darwadi in an online trial at the Semarang Corruption Court, the two defendants were also required to pay a fine of IDR 300 million which if not paid would be replaced with 6 months in prison.

The defendant Etana Fani Jatnika was also burdened with paying compensation for state losses of IDR 1.65 billion.

"Declaring the defendant guilty of violating Article 2 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 31 of 1999 which has been amended and added to Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption", he said in the trial chaired by Chief Justice Rochmad, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 18.

In his judgment, the prosecutor considered the defendant's actions disturbing the public.

"The defendant as a law enforcement officer is not a good example in efforts to eradicate corruption", he said.

The corruption crime committed between August and December 2021 was revealed after there was a difference between the funds stored in the holding account of the Blora Police and the report submitted by the defendant Eka Maryani, who is the treasurer of receipts at the Blora Police.

The difference in PNBP funds that should have been deposited into the state treasury was actually used by the defendant Etana to fill his Paypal application account.

From the funds stored in the Paypal account, the defendant has earned a profit of IDR 125 million, which was used to pay off the purchase of a car.

The two defendants had the opportunity to present their defense at the next trial.
