Be The Runner Up Of The 2022 President's Cup, Borneo FC Coach Milomir Seslija: Counting From The Competition System, We Are The Winners
JAKARTA - Borneo FC failed to win the 2022 President's Cup after only a 0-0 draw against Arema FC in the 2022 Presidential Cup second leg, Sunday, July 17. The result made Borneo FC lost 0-1 on aggregate.
Borneo FC coach, Milomir Seslija, assessed that his team deserved to win the match. He said Stefano Lilipaly and his friends had played very well in the second leg which took place at the Segiri Stadium, Samarinda.
"We have played very well, kept pressing and creating many chances, but we were unlucky because Arema were also quite successful in guarding the defense from conceding goals," Seslija said after the match, as reported by Antara.
Seslija continues to give appreciation to his players even though they have failed to win the 2022 President's Cup title. According to him, his team deserves to be the champion.
Because Borneo FC has recorded six wins, two draws and one defeat in the 2022 President's Cup pre-season tournament.
"If we count from the competition system, we may be the champions in this tournament," explained the man who is familiarly called Milo.
He also noted that currently the Borneo team has become a very solid team and is quite feared by opponents. This strength can be the main capital to face the League 1 competition.
"The people of Samarinda must remain proud of Borneo FC, because we have experienced such a big change to become a strong team and always show a good game in every match," said Milo.
Meanwhile, Borneo FC player Fajar Faturahman apologized to the people of Samarinda for failing to win the 2022 President's Cup title.
"We have tried hard, but the results say otherwise, and we have to apologize for this failure," said Fajar, who has received the award as the best young player at the 2022 President's Cup.
