JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian responded to DPC Permahi Banten's lawsuit against President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the Presidential Decree (Keppres) appointing the Acting Governor of Banten, Al Muktabar. The Minister of Home Affairs said that the appointment was in accordance with the procedure.
"It doesn't matter, we have followed the procedure. It is very according to the procedure," Tito told reporters in Jakarta, Sunday, July 17.
According to Tito, the pros and cons of the Presidential Decree (Keppres) on the appointment of the Acting Governor of Banten are natural. However, the former National Police Chief confirmed that he would follow the applicable legal provisions.
"If there are parties who object, one or two, I think it's only natural. If someone sues, yes, we will follow the procedure, we will attend the lawsuit," he said.

The lawsuit was filed by the Permahi Banten Branch Management Board (DPC) with case number 202/G/2022/PTUN.JKT today, Wednesday, July 6.
The appointment of Al Muktabar as PJ Governor of Banten to replace Banten Governor Wahidin Halim. Al Muktabar was inaugurated by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian. Previously, Muktabar claimed to respect the lawsuit by the DPC Permahi Banten in the Jakarta Administrative Court.
"We respect it as a process for citizens to give their opinions, thoughts, hopefully the goal is for the good of building Banten, we really respect it," Muktabar told reporters in Serang, Thursday, July 7.
Muktabar stated that he still thinks positively about the lawsuit. He hopes that the lawsuit has good intentions for Banten.
