3G Network Ends Soon, Telkomsel Asks Customers In Manokwari To Immediately Switch To 4G

MANOKWARI- Telkomsel has switched its 3G network services to 4G/LTE in Manokwari, the capital city of West Papua Province. This is done in line with government directives through the Ministry of Communication and Information in stages and measurable in all cities in Indonesia.

"The transfer of 3G services to 4G/LTE will be held throughout 2022," said the Manager of Telkomsel's Sorong West Papua Branch, Ahmad Mannyaurang, in a release received by Antara in Sorong, Sunday, July 17.

He said that the transfer of the 3G network will end at the end of the year so it is hoped that customers who are still using SIM cards can immediately migrate their cards to 4G/LTE services.

Telkomsel certainly provides various options for people who want to migrate their cards, ranging from GraPARI, Telkomsel Authorized Partner (TAP) offices, outlets or credit sellers, to the services of a number of e-commerce partners.

According to him, all the services provided will help the community to transfer 3G networks according to their respective needs and the nearest location. "For people in the Manokwari area, the card migration process is free of charge," said Ahmad.

He said that the public did not need to worry about changing the number that is currently used because the only thing that changed was the physical card, while the customer number did not change.

For people who have successfully migrated their cards, Telkomsel provides additional special quotas on the 4G/LTE network for free, starting from 15GB to 30GB.

“For customers who still use old-fashioned cellphones, they can still enjoy telephone and SMS services. 2G services are still operating and can be enjoyed as a whole," said Ahmad.
