Via Footpath, Suspect Of Bribery In Central Mamberamo Papua Escapes To PNG With 2 Backpacks

PAPUA - RHP, a suspect in a bribery and gratification case in Central Mamberamo Regency, Papua is suspected of fleeing to Papua New Guinea (PNG) via Vanimo.

Dirreskrimum Polda Papua Kombes Faizal Rahmadani confirmed that RHP fled Thursday, July 14 through Skouw, Jayapura City and crossed through a footpath and entered Wutung, PNG.

From the reports received, RHP went to the RI-PNG border with two backpacks.

"It is not yet known what the contents of the backpack are," said Faizal in Jayapura, Antara, Friday, July 15.

His party is currently still investigating who was involved in the escape of RHP. To ensure the existence of RHP in PNG, the Papuan Police are conducting further investigations.

"The Papuan Police will assist KPK investigators in processing the case and those who help in the escape of RHP will be subject to sanctions in accordance with Article 21 of the Anti-Corruption Law," said Faizal.
