SERANG - Ditlantas Banten Police evacuated victims of traffic accidents on the Tangerang - Merak toll road section, right at KM 58,300 towards Tangerang. The incident that occurred on Friday, July 15 at around 10:05 WIB, it was reported that one person died, namely the truck driver.

Dirlantas Polda Banten Kombes Pol Budi Mulyanto explained that the factor that caused the accident was that the driver was suspected of not having anticipated keeping a safe distance.

"As a result of the accident, the vehicle was damaged and the tanker truck driver initials TR died on the spot," Budi said in a release received on Friday, July 15.

According to records, the two vehicles involved in the accident were a trailer truck with license plate number B 9369 PEI, driven by YP (22), which collided with a tanker truck numbered B 9031 CFA driven by TR (29).

Budi explained the chronology of the accident.

"Initially the two vehicles were traveling side by side from Merak - Jakarta in the slow lane, when they arrived at the scene the trailer truck driven by YP reduced its speed due to traffic congestion. Then from behind the tanker truck driven by TR did not anticipate keeping a safe distance, so it hit the trailer truck in front of it. The final position of the trailer truck and tanker truck is normal on the shoulder of the road facing east, as a result of the accident TR died at the location and both vehicles were damaged, "explained Budi.

Officers who arrived at the location immediately evacuated to avoid traffic jams.

"Furthermore, officers immediately went to the crime scene and recorded the identity of the driver and vehicle. Then immediately evacuated the vehicle to avoid traffic jams," added Budi.
