Jokowi Invites 98 Activists To The Palace, Asks To Help Coordinate Information To The Ministry Of ATR/BPN Regarding Agrarian Issues

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo invited 98 activists who are members of the National Association of 98 Activists (PENA 98) to the Jakarta Presidential Palace.

According to information from 98 activist and PDI-P politician Adian Napitupulu, the meeting was attended by him and three other activists, namely Mustar Bona Ventura, Fendy Mugni and Musyafaur Rahman.

"The meeting between PENA 98 activists and President Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace lasted approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes," Adian said in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 15.

Adian said the meeting discussed agrarian issues and the current economy.

"One of them is the resolution of agrarian conflicts and also talks about the global recession. The President provided data that as of today, economically, we are far better than many other countries," explained Adian.

He conveyed that President Jokowi also asked activists to help with land issues by actively coordinating with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/BPN.

"The president also asked us to actively coordinate information related to people's issues with ministries including the Ministry of ATR/BPN," he said.
