Ganjar Sends Joint Team To Handle Flash Floods In Pati
SOLO - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo sent a joint team from various sectors to help deal with floods in Pati Regency and its surroundings.
"They are already in the field, PUPR has gone down, I asked BBWS to step down, and today we are coordinating. The regent, BPBD has also responded, PMI has also dropped there," said Ganjar during a working visit in Surakarta City, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 14th.
Ganjar appealed to the joint team and volunteers to immediately evacuate residents affected by flooding at a number of points in Pati Regency.
Ganjar also asked that the emergency embankment that broke on the Sat River be repaired immediately so that the flood would not spread.
"So the important thing is to help the person, but immediately repair the broken embankment," said the PDI-P politician.
The flash flood that occurred on Thursday (14/7) early in the morning in Pati Regency caused dozens of residents' houses to be swept away by the flood currents.
Dozens of houses were washed away by flash floods in Margoyoso District, namely in Bulumanis Kidul Village there were 13 houses and 12 houses in Tunjungrejo Village, while the houses of residents in Sekarjalak Village only suffered minor damage.
To meet the food and drink needs of flood victims, the Pati Regency Government has prepared a public kitchen near their respective village halls.
In addition, currently there is also a supply of food and drink needs from PMI Pati, volunteers, communities, the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Pati Social Service as well as a number of other parties.
