BNN Actions In The Last Month: Confiscate 3 Quintals Of Narcotics, Arrest 3 TNI Soldiers And 1 Active Police
JAKARTA - The National Narcotics Agency managed to confiscate evidence weighing 3 quintals of narcotics. Most come from marijuana.
The details are 1.19 quintals of methamphetamine and 1.81 quintals of marijuana from 11 narcotics crime cases for the period June-July 2022 involving four law enforcement officers with active status.
"During that time, BNN managed to uncover 3 quintals of narcotics," said Deputy for Eradication of BNN RI Inspector General Pol. Kenedy at a press conference in the Pattimura Room of the BNN RI Building, East Jakarta, Thursday, July 14, quoted from Antara.
Kenedy revealed the chronology of the arrests of the eleven cases. Based on his presentation, four law enforcement officers were involved in the ninth and eleventh cases.
The ninth case took place on Tuesday (5/7). Indonesian National Narcotics Agency officers secured an Expedition Warehouse Head with the initials L and three members of the TNI each with the initials MS, BH, and J in the Pesanggrahan area, South Jakarta.
It was also said that the four were known to be involved in the illicit trafficking of marijuana-type narcotics across the Aceh-Jakarta provinces which were controlled by the Khairul Aceh Network.
Narcotic evidence that was secured from this case was marijuana weighing 61.10 kg which was packaged into 67 plastic wraps and stored in 3 large boxes.
In the eleventh case, Friday (8/7), BNN RI officers in collaboration with Customs and Excise succeeded in securing an individual police officer with the initials E and another man with the initials Y.
Both were secured in different places even though they were still in the same hotel area in Dumai, Riau.
Suspect E was secured in his car which was parked in the hotel yard with evidence in the form of 52.90 kg of crystal methamphetamine wrapped in green Chinese tea packaging and camouflaged in a cardboard box containing rambutan.
Based on E's confession, officers then arrested Y in one of the hotel rooms for his role as the person who ordered E to take and receive narcotics.
The narcotics, belonging to the international PALAI syndicate network, were sent from Sungai Pelek Selangor, Malaysia, to Dumai Seaport, and are planned to be transported to Pekanbaru, Riau.
"The involvement of law enforcement officers in narcotics crime cases is very unfortunate because law enforcement officers are at the forefront of eradicating narcotics in Indonesia," said Kenedy.
Therefore, he continued, it becomes a big challenge for all law enforcement officers in maintaining individual integrity so that they are not influenced to commit violations.
Law enforcement officers involved will receive strict and harsh sanctions in accordance with applicable law in Indonesia.
In addition, BNN will also carry out internal supervision of every activity and service, both in the fields of eradication, prevention, community empowerment, rehabilitation, law, and cooperation.
"BNN RI invites all elements of the nation and state to continue to unite in waging the war on narcotics," said Kenedy.
