Former Pertamina President Director Karen Agustiawan Was Prevented By The KPK From Going Abroad

JAKARTA - The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) has prevented former President Director (Director) of PT Pertamina (Persero) Karen Agustiawan from going abroad. Prevention is carried out at the request of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"(Prevented from leaving the country, ed) on behalf of Karen A," said Achmad Nur Saleh, Sub-Coordinator of Public Relations at the Immigration Ministry of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), in a written statement, Wednesday, July 13.

Prevention abroad is carried out for six months from 8 June to 8 December.

Regarding this prevention, Achmad did not elaborate on the case in which Karen was asked by the KPK to be prevented from going abroad.

However, the KPK is currently investigating allegations of corruption in the process of buying and selling liquefied natural gas (LNG) at PT Pertamina.

There are also allegations of this corruption occurred around 2011-2012. A number of witnesses have also been summoned in this case, including the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) for the 2014-2017 period Dwi Soetjipto and the Director of PT PLN for the 2011-2014 period, Nur Pamudji.

The KPK said the suspects would be announced at the same time when the forced detention was carried out.
