Lili Pintauli Withdraws Until Ethics Session Falls, Chairperson Of Commission III DPR: Personal Acts, Personally Punished
JAKARTA - The chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Bambang Wuryanto or familiarly called Bambang Pacul, said that the council cannot be blamed for the case of Lili Pintauli Siregar, who resigned as deputy chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) right on the day of the ethical decision trial held by the Supervisory Board (Dewas).
The trial was to follow up on reports containing allegations of Lili receiving gratuities from state-owned enterprises (BUMN).
According to Bambang Pacul, Lili's actions are a personal responsibility. Therefore the person concerned is punished personally.
"Something is private, what if I have a wife and then cheat on me? We have tested that we will not cheat, but it turns out to be cheating, piye? Am I the hundreds of thousands? I got 187,000 votes, hey, 187,000 people, you voted wrong, you have to be responsible, isn't that right," Bambang explained, Tuesday, July 12.
For this reason, Pacul considers Commission III of the DPR to be irrelevant if he is held accountable for Lili's actions. Even though it was Commission III of the DPR that carried out the fit and proper test of the KPK leadership.
"So the point is that personal actions are punished personally. That mistakes in choosing are usually human, there are human errors. So don't ask us to be responsible for commission III. It wasn't me when I voted either," said Bambang.
On the other hand, Bambang Pacul believes that the government does not need to issue a Perppu to replace Lili as the head of the KPK. Because there is a mechanism to replace Lili.
It is known that President Jokowi must send his name to the DPR and then carry out a fit and proper test of the new KPK leadership candidate.
"If there are regulations, we will follow the regulations, if there are no regulations, we will seek consensus. That there is already a link between Lili Pintauli's replacement, there is no need for a Perppu unless it is considered an emergency Perppu, how come the Perppu is made cheap like that. If it's definitely not a Perppu," he said .
Regarding the selection mechanism from the list of KPK candidates previously tested in 2019, Bambang Pacul admitted that he was still studying. This is because he only served as chairman of the commission after Lili Pintauli was elected as the head of the KPK.
"I'm still studying this. I admit to be honest, I did ask for help, for the replacement of the council (KPK leader, ed) who resigned, I was sent the laws and regulations, they were sent but honestly I haven't read it," concluded the PDIP politician.
