Jokowi Condolences: Shinzo Abe In The Kingdom Of Strengthening Indonesian-Japan Cooperation

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expressed his condolences for the death of former Japanese Prime Minister (PM) Shinzo Abe.

The Sakura country politician breathed his last at the age of 67 after undergoing treatment at the hospital as a result of being shot from close range during a speech in the Nara area, Japan.

"Allow me to express my deepest condolences for the tragic death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe," Jokowi wrote via his Twitter account @jokowi in English translated by VOI, Friday, July 8.

Jokowi recalled that Shinzo Abe during his lifetime had a role in the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Japan. Abe's services to Indonesia will continue to be remembered.

"We will always remember his contribution in strengthening the RI-Japan cooperation," said Jokowi.

Jokowi hopes that the bereaved family will be given the strength to face difficult times. Likewise to Japanese citizens, Jokowi said that his sympathy was at the bottom of Abe's death.

"Hopefully PM Abe's family and Japanese people will be given strength in times of mourning," he concluded.
