JAKARTA - The Head of the Traffic Unit (Kasatlantas) of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Purwanta, confirmed that his party would fine state official vehicles and other official vehicles if they are proven to have parked on the shoulder and sidewalk along Jalan Kebon Sirih, Gambir, Central Jakarta.
"We give warnings first, if they persist, we will tow four-wheeled vehicles. We don't see any number plates, we will take strict action against officials or important state people," Kompol Purwanta told reporters, Wednesday, July 6.
Furthermore, Kompol Purwanta said that his party and the Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. would guard Jalan Kebon Sirih to avoid traffic jams.
Because the congestion that occurs due to the activity of vehicles parked on sidewalks and road bodies.
"We will place tow vehicles and officers on Jalan Kebon Sirih to Tugu Tani," he said.
Currently, his party has only given a warning to vehicles found parked on sidewalks and road shoulders.
But in the future, his party will immediately carry out towing if the owner does not heed the officer's warning.
"We will warn you first, if you are annoying, we will immediately tow the car. Meanwhile, the motorbike will be transported into a truck. All vehicles are taken to the Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department office to be given a ticket," he said.
