Destroyed City Palace Bridge Collapses For Social Media Content, 5 Teens Arrested By Tanjungpinang Police
KEPRI - Tanjungpinang City Resort Police (Polresta) arrested five teenage boys who damaged the railing of the tourist bridge at the Rebah City Palace in Tanjungpinang City, Tuesday, July 5.
The five vandals were ABD (16), DA (16), PNI (16), MFT (12), and MRA (17).
"The perpetrator was arrested after the video of the destruction of the tourist bridge fence went viral on the Facebook social media page, on June 30, 2022," said the Tanjungpinang Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Heribertus Ompusunggu in Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands (Kepri), Tuesday 5 July.
The police chief said the five teenagers had been questioned. They admitted that they intentionally destroyed the bridge fence to make video content to go viral on social media (social media).
The police in this case, based on the Antara report, also presented the Tanjungpinang Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar).
"Disbudpar has made a statement that the contents will not make a police report related to the destruction of the tourist bridge of the City of Rebah palace," he said.
Meanwhile, he continued, the five juvenile offenders would be given guidance through the Regional Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (UPTD PPA).
The Police Chief advised all parties to take care of each other's public/public facilities that have been provided by the Tanjungpinang City Government.
"We hope that similar incidents do not happen again," he said.
