National Police Chief: Police Are Not Just A Profession But A Way To Serve
JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the police are not just a profession. Becoming a police officer is called a 'way' to serve the country.

"Police is not just a profession but a way to serve," said Sigit.
Sigit exemplifies the form of police service to the state. For example, participating in the handling of COVID-19 in Indonesia.
The National Police cooperates with various agencies and institutions to make policies so that the spread of COVID-19 can be controlled.
"The COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia can be controlled so that activities and events, both national and international, can run again and are expected to provide a multiplier effect for the economy and also Indonesia's good name in the eyes of the world," he said.
Then, the police also guard elements of the community in expressing their opinions. For example, the aspirations of the workers on May Day commemoration.
With the escort of the police, the action of expressing opinions can be carried out properly and safely.
"Mayday fiesta demonstrations and other rallies can run safely and smoothly, even though they involve large numbers of people," said Sigit.
Most recently, the police escorted the community during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming 1443 Hijri or 2022.
At that time, the National Police, especially the Traffic Corps, issued a policy of one way, contraflow, to odd-even. The goal is that people who want to return to their hometowns can arrive safely.
"Homecoming activities can run smoothly, the number of accidents will decrease and there will be no significant traffic jams," said Sigit.
The National Police Chief ensured that in the future the National Police can continue to be alert in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. Especially, with the appearance of the Omicron variant.
"Especially facing the new variants (omicron) BA.4 and BA.5 by implementing health protocols and increasing booster vaccination achievements according to the direction of the president," said Sigit.
