Airlangga Said That Only Jokowi, The Leader Of The Country, Will Be Accepted By Russia And Ukraine In The Near Future
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that only President Joko Widodo as the leader of the country had successfully held a meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, in the near future.
Therefore, Airlangga assessed that Jokowi's peace mission to a country at war could not be called a failure. Even though, after Jokowi's meeting, Russia continued to attack Ukraine.
"No state leader will be accepted by both parties in the near future. Only Mr. Jokowi. So, it shows that the two warring leaders accept Mr. Jokowi's presence," Airlangga told reporters on Monday, July 4.
In addition, Airlangga emphasized that the main thing that Jokowi brought in his meeting with Zelensky, then the meeting with Putin, was related to the availability of world food.
"Mr. President's message is that the existing food, both wheat and fertilizer, can be released globally. So, global food security can be maintained. Of course it is part of the peace process. And the peace process, right, is a process that goes on continuously, not instantaneously So, this is a good start," said Airlangga.
