Two Motorcycle Riders Killed, Hit And Hit By Coal Transport Trucks In Two Different Locations
JAKARTA - Two motorcycle riders in Jambi died as a result of a traffic accident with coal transportation that occurred in two different locations.
"Two accidents in one night occurred in Muaro Pijoan Village, Muaro Jambi Regency and in Simpang Aro, Batang Hari Regency," said Head of Sub-Division of Penmas Bidhumas of Jambi Police Kompol Mas Edy, quoting Antara, Sunday, July 3.
Edy also explained that the two accidents involved coal trucks. The accident that occurred in Muaro Pijoan Village, Muaro Jambi Regency occurred between a Honda Revo motorcycle rider, numbered BH 3312 MF with a Mitsubishi canter truck car, numbered BH 8808 NU, and a coal truck.
The accident began when the motorcyclist drove from Muara Bulian, Batang Hari to Jambi. When the motorcyclist was in the right lane about to make a turn, suddenly a coal truck from behind hit the side of the motorcycle. As a result, the motorcyclist bounced and died instantly.
Then the next accident occurred at Simpang Aro, Batang Hari Regency between a Yamaha Aerox motorcycle rider, police number BH 4780 VO with a Toyota Dyna light truck, police number BH 8705 MK which is a coal transport truck.
The accident started when a coal truck broke its axle due to overload. The truck that broke down stopped on a dark road and did not install a safety triangle. Just then the motorcyclist traveling at high speed hit the back of the truck.
"Cases of accidents and traffic violations involving coal trucks will be reported to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as evaluation material for companies holding coal mining permits," said Kompol. Mr. Edy.
Previously, a similar accident had occurred on the Sarolangun-Jambi highway involving Avanza cars and coal trucks. Where the Avanza car hit a coal transport truck from behind, as a result five passengers of the Avanza car were injured.
