Gamaliél Explores Himself Through The Latest Solo Song, Asteroid
JAKARTA - A year has passed, Gamaliél released his newest solo song, /asteroid/. This song is a continuation of his first EP, Q1 (First Quarter) which was released in 2021.
Self-reflection is the main theme of the GAC member's latest release. His majestic music is supported by emotional lyrics and tells of reflections on youth.
/ asteroid / is a new step for Gamaliél who is leaning towards a solo career. After his hiatus with GAC, he showed a new side in his musicality including his newest song.
“Despite changing the point of view of the discussion, this new release—which uses tropes from outer space—is still a story about self-struggle, says Gamaliél.
“/asteroid/ is a continuation of the story from Q1. If you have resolved internal problems, what next? These challenges, be they asteroids or whatever, will always be there. We can choose to go forward and face it or get stuck and hide in comfort. I prefer the former," he said.
Audrey Tapiheru's older sister wanted to escape the comfort of being a soloist. This time, he released a new song under his label, Sélf Records.
“This song reflects the continuous learning and development that I hope will always be present in all my works. Convenience paralyzes our journey,” said Gamaliél.
This AMI Award winner was assisted by ROF in writing the lyrics, while the music was done with Aldi Nada Permana.
Gamaliél's new song, asteroids can be heard digitally starting today, Thursday, June 30.
