CIANJUR - The family of Indonesian Migrant Workers from Cianjur, West Java, wrote a letter to President Joko Widodo to help uncover the case of the murder of Evi Noviyanti, which for the past two years has not been clearly handled in Saudi Arabia.
The parents of migrant workers from Cianjur, Ai Rukiah (59) said a letter requesting assistance from President Joko Widodo had been sent through the Cianjur Branch of the Indonesian Post office.
"We sent a letter to President Jokowi so that there is clarity on the disclosure of Evi's case, which since two years ago there has been no bright spot. Evi was found dead in the parking area of Al Kahfi Hospital in Riyadh on March 26, 2020 with suspicion of being murdered," he said in Cianjur, Antara. , Monday, June 27.
Even during that time, the family had sent various documents needed by the Indonesian Embassy, but the continuation of the case never reached the family.
The family hopes that the case will be revealed soon and the perpetrators will be given the appropriate punishment.
"I ask President Joko Widodo to help the family so that the case of the murder of our child can be revealed as soon as possible. To help so far, we are coordinating with Astakira Cianjur," he said.
Chairman of the DPC Astakira Cianjur, Ali Hildan Hildan said that to reveal the case of the murder of the migrant worker from Cianjur, his party had coordinated with BNP2TKI and the Indonesian Embassy in Saudi Arabia because the victim was allegedly killed and his body dumped in the hospital parking lot in Riyadh.
"For two years, we and our families have not received any information on the progress of the case. So the family sent a letter to the President of the Republic of Indonesia to help get clarity. We hope that the president can help the family's wishes," he said.
He added that seeking information from various parties, including the Indonesian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, has often been done so far, but the answers from authorized officials have not been able to confirm whether the case has been handled or not.
