8,017 Elderly In Central Bangka Have Been Injected With COVID-19 Vaccine

BABEL - A total of 8,017 elderly residents (elderly) in Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel), have been injected with the COVID-19 vaccine. That number means 73.31 percent of the total 10,936 vaccination targets in the district.

Head of the Central Bangka Health Office, Anas Maarif, said the percentage of vaccines for the elderly had reached the number above the target set at 60 percent.

"We have pushed for the acceleration of vaccination for the elderly by picking up the ball in anticipation," said Anas in Koba, quoted from Antara, Sunday, June 26.

Regarding the number of elderly people in Central Bangka who have received the COVID-19 vaccine, Anas did not explain in more detail whether they had been injected with the first dose of vaccine, complete or up to a booster.

Central Bangka Regency Government in collaboration with Central Bangka Police to mobilize the elderly to come to the vaccine booth. "The government has prepared an operational vehicle to pick up the elderly at home," he said.

"We have reached the national average and continue to intensify this year," he continued.

Local governments accelerate vaccination programs to establish communal immunity.

Anas also appealed to the public to be aware of the outbreak of acute hepatitis by continuing to improve a healthy lifestyle.
